It is done dead easy and the results are very accurate.

The drum replacement is probably the one that impressed me the most. This has freed a great amount of Ram on my PC. With Superior Drummer 2 I always used to use external effects (reverb, compression.) but the quality of effects on this one is superb and i no longer use external plug ins. Another thing I'm really impressed with is the really good effects on the mixer. I upgraded from Superior Drummer 2 and there are tons of upgrades on this one!! I am really impressed by how many drum samples and kits are available and the sound quality is perfect. I own a home studio and record drums using my Roland drum kit.

The download is initially small but if you want all the add-ons such as room mics and added ambience and other Toontrack features it can be close to 350Gb but it allows you to just use the basic stock pack and add the rest if you have space / bandwith. These programs will never replicate or impersonate a drummer but for those living in an apartment without the room for drums these are a good compromise, the more you know about drumming and time signatures will allow you to get the most out of this plugin. I use a standard yamaha midi keyboard, its far from perfect but the app works great and allows you to customize your midi settings and get your ideas down. Having some kind of midi keyboard or pad is probably the best option as it enables you to quickly input your ideas without the need to use a mouse to plot ideas. There is a huge amount of sounds and stock rythms available and obviously there are addtional SDX addons you can buy if you feel the need to add a few different styles and kits etc. Im not a drummer and neither is this plugin really but its a useful tool if you dont have a drummer to build rythmic ideas.

While I'd like to have a better deal for owning EZ2, SD2, I think supporting the company is important as they have that easy to upgrade app manager, have been entirely bug-free for my uses, and now are so open with 3rd party MIDI search, and swappable drum parts.Virtual Drum Production Studio (Download) Audiodeluxe didn't have an upgrade when I looked, but I agree, they offer great deals. I didn't find a deal, just the $199 upgrade. Maybe it's just better to go with the flow, and match tempo's at some later date if need be? But you'd need a bunch of separate tracks or bouncing audio (3 tracks for kick, 2 for snare, etc)

I'd be interested in knowing how to do that (academically) for laying audio, as I'm sure in the future it will make your recordings software proof.

I wonder where this is leading? This appears to be in-the-box drums, so they don't seem geared toward recording separate tracks. I especially like the George Massenburg presets. Some really good drum tracks don't sound "in the room" like a drum does solo,īut that's an issue for matching references. I don't know how that transfers to recording. When I go back and forth, there are some amazing sounds out of SD3 that are just way more "real". If you don't care for earlier drum libraries from EZ2 and SD2, then you can delete those as well. But it turn out that it's in 5 libraries and if you don't care about surround sound (which I currently don't) you can not download about 90GB of the 230 GB. I wasn't so sure about biting, but in the end, I did.
